Only 9 minutes into President Biden’s first press conference a lie can be detected.
Biden claimed “He (Trump) did not fund HHS (department of Health and Human Services) to get people – to get the children out of those border facilities”
Biden claimed this while simultaneously attacking Trump’s ‘family separation policy’. What many fail to realize is Trumps ‘family separation policy’ did just that. It funded the HHS to get children out of border facilities.
The policy left migrant adults on standby for prosecution (in violation of 8 U.S. Code § 1325 – Improper entry by alien) while removing children and placing them in Department of Health and Human Services shelters equipped to properly take care of children.
Trump did not want children in detention facilities, so he moved them to a safer and more sanitary location until they could be relocated with their parents, a sponsor, adoptive family, or a relative in the United States who was a citizen.
But Democrats were not happy with this resolution. They lashed out illustrating it in the worst possible way, not as an improvement but as a regression.
In reality, when a parental guardian commits a crime punishable by incarceration or deportation, whether it be drug possession, larceny, or a DUI, they are separated from their children. They are detained elsewhere (because jails/prisons are not a place for an innocent child) until prosecution and further action.
This is the standard we hold for all American citizens, but for some reason Democrats make a special case (a fallacious attempt at special pleading) for illegal immigrants and hold them to a different standard.
