Despite apparent threats of a nuclear response to anyone who interferes from Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Joe Biden appears to be considering a cyber-attack against Russia.
NBC News reported President Joe Biden has been presented with a menu of options for the U.S. to carry out massive cyberattacks designed to disrupt Russia’s ability to sustain its military operations in Ukraine.
These attacks could disrupt internet connections across Russia, shutting off electrical power, and tampering with railroads. Normally if a cyber attack happens, it’s not always clear where the attack may have come from. The United States government seems to have also blown any anonymity they may have had while instigating the Russians.
These moves are not smart, they’re not strategic. Cyber attacks on Russia from the United States would be placing the lives of every American, man, woman, and child in peril. Putin has already alluded that he is not afraid to use his nuclear Arsenal on those who attack Russia. Nukes however are not the only danger.
Since its inception, America has been virtually untouchable by other world powers. A ground invasion of the United States would be impractical from any country outside of the North American continent. America has been largely immune to traditional forms of warfare.
Engaging in a cyberwar with Russia, only makes the United States touchable. The Russians do not need to cross an ocean in order to hack American servers and A.I.
United States intelligence officials indicate that no solid decision has been made yet on whether or not cyberattacks would be carried out.
The decision to use cyberattacks against Russia would be a reckless one.
