In Biden’s first press conference as President of the United States, he devoutly insisted that his administration would be a transparent one.
Since then his administration has displayed an attitude that is anything but transparent with almost everything.
The Daily Caller reported, White House press secretary Jen Psaki refused Friday to say how many breakthrough cases of COVID-19 in vaccinated staff there have been at the White House.
A reporter pointed out how President Joe Biden’s administration touts its “transparency” during a White House daily briefing and inquired why it hadn’t released “the number of breakthrough cases” of “vaccinated staffers.”
After dodging the question, The reporter responded “Why not just provide the number? Are you trying to hide something?”
“No, but why do you need to have that information?” Psaki shot back.
The real question is why shouldn’t reporters know that information? Unless the government truly was hiding something it seems like a trivial number.
Reporters are meant to obtain information grim the government at report it to the people. In a truly transparent administration, almost nothing would be off limits.
