Following his nursing home scandal, assembly republicans make a bipartisan push to impeach Gov. Andrew Cuomo
The New York Post wrote:
State Assembly Republicans are moving to form an impeachment commission “to gather facts and evidence” surrounding Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s “handling and subsequent cover-up of the COVID-19 crisis in nursing homes” across New York, they announced Thursday.
The Assembly Republican Conference next week will introduce a bill to create a bipartisan panel tasked with “examining the state’s method of administration and conduct in all matters relating to nursing homes and long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“The Cuomo Administration’s nursing home cover-up is one of the most alarming scandals we’ve seen in state government,” claimed Will Barclay, a senate Republican from Oswego.
The committee would have a deadline of 60 days to conduct its investigation, and submit its findings to the legislature.
To many, especially north of the city, it is astonishing that Cuomo has managed to stick around this long.
He has shown complete disregard for everyone outside the city and displayed that he cares little about people and more about votes.
When the pandemic first began, Cuomo threatened to bring troops into upstate New York, and take ventilators from hospitals so that they could be used in the city, just before the disease rocked the northern portion of the state.
With any luck, there will be a successful impeachment this year.
