The Chinese government appears to be preparing for an invasion of Taiwan.
The Daily Caller reported, The Chinese military conducted a simulated invasion of Taiwan on Saturday, the Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense claimed, as China ramped up its largest-ever military exercises in the Taiwan Strait.
The exercises come just after Nancy Pelosi’s provocative visit of the contested nation. China has stated its intentions to reclaim Taiwan and unify it with the Chinese state.
During Pelosi’s visit, the Chinese military activated forces and sent aircraft to the unofficial dividing line between the two nations. The warplanes reportedly buzzed the line and retreated back to China.
According to the Daily Caller, the drills on Saturday consisted of joint air and sea assault drills on Taiwan and would help the Chinese understand how to launch an amphibious landing assault on Taiwanese beaches. These drills reportedly started on Thursday and are supposed to continue on until Sunday.
Apparently the Chinese government has completely suspended military communication with the U.S. government and there is no update on when communications will be restored.
