California has been looking for ways to trim their incarcerated population. Their plan is quite frightening.
They have decided to allow 76,000 inmates eligibility for early release. Among these 76,000 are violent, and repeat felons as well as people serving life sentences.
Fox News reported: “More than 63,000 inmates convicted of violent crimes will be eligible for good behavior credits that shorten their sentences by one-third instead of the one-fifth that had been in place since 2017. That includes nearly 20,000 inmates who are serving life sentences with the possibility of parole.”
It will be months, or even years until inmates actually have any mind if opportunity to be released, but many will be let out none the
less.
10,000 non violent offenders could see their sentences reduced by 50% if they’re lucky.
