A video has been shared on Twitter where the host of Afghan TV’s Peace Studio addresses the Afghan public while Taliban members stand behind him with guns.
The Peace Studio TV show airs on Kabul TV and the host was responsible for telling the audience to “cooperate with it and should not be afraid”.
Multiple members of the Taliban can be seen standing behind the host while he speaks. Each of them are holding a gun as they listen to the host.
As the Taliban continue their efforts after taking over, many are desperately trying to flee the country in fear of the group.
Reports have indicated that the Taliban is beating U.S. citizens trying to reach the airport and has been hunting down Afghans who have been involved with the U.S. by using biometric data.
There have also been reports of the Taliban hunting down journalists who have been covering the takeover. Houses have been raided and the Taliban is organizing searches to find known journalists hiding in the country.
The Taliban has reassured the public that they will allow freedom of the press and asks them not to flee the country.
