Terry McAuliffe Says Critical Race Theory Is ‘Made Up’

Terry McAuliffe, a Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate, said Sunday that critical race theory is a “dog whistle” and “made-up” by his Republican opponent.

McAuliffe was interviewed on CNN’s “State of the Union” where he was asked about public schools “pushing a radical agenda in which American history is portrayed as racist”.

He responded, “This is a made-up – This is a Trump, Betsy DeVos, Glenn Youngkin plan to divide people”. “It really bothers me. I try to unite people,” he added.

“I really hate to see what Glenn Youngkin is trying to do to Virginia what Donald Trump did to our country,” he said.

I really hate to see the division, the hatred. We’re putting these children in this horrible position. Let’s just be clear. We don’t teach critical race theory.

McAuliffe has previously denied critical race theory, calling it a “right-wing conspiracy”.

When he was featured on WAVY News, McAuliffe claimed “It’s not taught in Virginia and it’s never been taught in Virginia”.

He was asked how he would define the theory, to which he responded “It doesn’t matter”.

McAuliffe continues to claim critical race theory is a made-up idea by Trump and other Republicans to divide people.
