Women’s March Apologizes For $14.92 Donation Request

The Women’s March is being mocked on social media after apologizing for sending an email requesting donations of $14.92 from supporters.

“We apologize deeply for the email that was sent today. $14.92 was our average donation amount this week,” the organization wrote Tuesday on Twitter.

“It was an oversight on our part to not make the connection to a year of colonization, conquest, and genocide for Indigenous people, especially before Thanksgiving,” the apology said.

It was unclear if the apology was posted in response to complaints from people who were offended by the donation amount.

The apology was immediately mocked on Twitter, with some questioning whether it was satire.

Lauren Chen tweeted “he Women’s March is not a serious organization. If you can’t see the amount of $14.92 without being triggered, seek help”.

Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer said “Let’s all chip in and raise the amount to $17.76. Then they’ll really lose their minds”.

Frank J. Fleming, a Babylon Bee senior writer, tweeted “This is the challenge for The Babylon Bee with all the woke stuff; it’s like trying to satirize a comedy”.

“Keeping all of your email recipients in mind at this difficult time,” said Federalist editor Emily Jashinsky.
