Secretary Of Homeland Security To Cubans: “If You Take To The Sea, You Will Not Come To The United States”

Typically Democrat administrations have been far more loose on immigration, and more willing to grant refugee status.

Now as Cuba experiences an economic crisis, the Biden Administration refuses to allow these Cubans into America. Could this be because Cuban’s are more likely to vote Republican?

Alejandro Mayorkas, Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security has come out and said, “Allow me to be clear: if you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States,”

It’s odd that refugees are treated differently based on their journey to flee their home country.

Ironically, Mayorkas is a Cuban immigrant himself, who fled the island nation in 1960. He was only a year old at the time, but this is still his origin story.

Now as a United States government official, he denies passage to similarly situated Cuban’s fleeing an oppressive regime that denies freedom to its people.

CBS reported, Mayorkas said those trying to reach the U.S. by sea will be intercepted by the Coast Guard and immediately returned to their home countries. Even if asylum-seekers manage to get interviews with U.S. officials, Mayorkas added, they will not be permitted to set foot on U.S. soil, regardless of the outcome of their screenings.

“If individuals make, establish a well-founded fear of persecution or torture, they are referred to third countries for resettlement,” Mayorkas said. “They will not enter the United States.”

One of the Biden administrations goals was to expand humanitarian immigration programs. So why does the administration want to turn this group away specifically?

Could it actually be, because these immigrants will not vote Democrat? Is this a power play by the Biden Administration?
