A recent video has gone viral showing the mayor of San Francisco breaking the city’s mask mandate as she dances in a club.
London Breed was caught partying maskless indoors, despite the mandate she put in place.
The video shows Breed dancing and mingling with others, while none of them are wearing masks.
Back in September, Breed was seen at a local nightclub without a mask, despite city guidance. In her own defense, she said “the fact that we have not been able to enjoy live music in this way since the beginning of this pandemic made it even that much more special and extraordinary”.
Last November, the mayor was seen at a restaurant in Napa after the state discouraged social gatherings.
Twitter users quickly criticized Breed’s carelessness as the city faces crime and violence. During the past two weeks, multiple stores have been robbed including Louis Vuitton, FENDI, YSL, and Burberry.
One account, “Asian Crime Report”, tweeted “Mayor London Breed feeling the spirit once again at a nightclub reportedly a few nights ago as our city continues towards its downward spiral with daily violence on the Asian community and numerous smash and grabs”.
She is also being criticized because children in schools are forced to wear masks all day. The city is still recommending people wear masks in restaurants, stores, and indoor events.
Breed’s actions add her to the long list of Democrats breaking their own rules including President Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Gavin Newsom.
