After being in Democrat hands for decades, and having been ravaged by Black Lives Matter, Kenosha seems to have turned red.

A Republican named Samantha Kerkman was voted in as county executive on April 5th. Kerkman is the first woman to hold the position since 1998, and the first Republican according to an unconfirmed Fox report.

Not only has Kenosha been firmly held by Democrats, but corrupt conspiratorial Democrats no less.

Fox reported, The current Kenosha County executive is Democrat Jim Kreuser, who has served in the position since 2008. He was preceded by Allan Kehl, who served as a Democratic sheriff in the county before being elected county executive from 1998 to 2008. Kehl resigned in 2008 and was later sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws.

Kenosha is a swing county that had not voted for a Republican president since Richard Nixon until President Donald Trump ran in 2016. Afterward, the county was once again red in 2020 with a majority of the population supporting re-election of Trump.

Kenosha first stepped into the spotlight after the controversial police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was shot 7 times after resisting arrest and refusing to remove a knife from his hand. Blake survived but was rendered paralyzed. Following the shooting, riots ravaged Kenosha, turning the town into what appeared like a war zone.

This event was quickly overshadowed by the shooting of Joseph Rosenbaum, Anthony Huber, and Gaige Grosskreutz. The gunman, Kyle Rittenhouse, and a band of his friends had been defending a local business with firearms as they were attacked.

Rittenhouse shot in self-defense.  Nearly one year later his trial once again brought Kenosha into the spotlight. Though several days in Rittenhouse was found not guilty on all charges.
