The FBI has announced that it is investigating attacks on pregnancy centers as potential acts of domestic violent extremism.
“The FBI is investigating a series of attacks and threats targeting pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country,” the bureau said in a statement.
“The FBI takes all threats seriously and we continue to work closely with our law enforcement partners and will remain vigilant to protect our communities,” it added.
The bureau is asking anyone who has information on the attacks or threats to alert law enforcement, call their local FBI field office, or email tips.fbi.gov.
Pro-life organizations and crisis pregnancy centers have been facing attacks and harassment after the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion suggested the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
The group Jane’s Revenge has taken credit for many of the attacks and recently released a letter threatening more violence.
“From here forward,” the group warned, “any anti-choice group who closes their doors, and stops operating will no longer be a target. But until you do, it’s open season, and we know where your operations are. The infrastructure of the enslavers will not survive. We will never stop, back down, slow down, or retreat”.
Several resource and crisis centers across the country have been the target of arson attacks over the past month.
Federal authorities are currently investigating a fire that took place at a pregnancy resource center in Gresham, Oregon early Friday.
The attacks are easily identifiable due to the paint left behind. Many buildings are smeared with red paint, along with messages like “Jane was here” and “Jane’s Revenge”.
