President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden were seen Saturday walking through a restaurant in Georgetown without masks on, violating the Washington, D.C. mask mandate.
They were caught leaving Fiola Mare without masks, while Secret Service agents behind them had masks on. Biden was holding his in his hand but his wife did not appear to have one with her.
They had reportedly visited the Italian seafood restaurant overlooking the Potomac River after attending a service at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Back in July, democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser reinstated an indoor mask mandate when the delta variant started to surge.
The Bidens also ignored Fiola Mare’s mask policy, which is in line with the city’s mandate.
On the restaurant’s website, there is a message saying, “Per CDC guidance and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s executive order, all individuals over age 2 are required to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be always worn while in our restaurants, except while eating and drinking. Thank you for understanding”.
Establishments that fail to enforce the mask mandate face potential fines and other problems.
Bowser has repeatedly been caught breaking her own mandate. Shortly before the mandate went into effect, she was seen celebrating her birthday without one on. Following the mandate, she was photographed maskless at an indoor wedding reception.
