The Biden controlled Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against Republican Governor Greg Abbott of Texas.
According to court documents, The lawsuit stems from an executive order put forth by the lone star Governor.
The Daily caller reported, Abbott announced restrictions on the ground transportation of illegal migrants in federal custody who could spread COVID-19 around Texas communities and directed law enforcement officials to intervene and reroute any vehicles suspected of violating the order, according to the Executive Order released on Wednesday. The Biden administration‘s lawsuit argues the Executive Order violates U.S. law and could harm migrants in federal custody while risking the safety of law enforcement officials, court documents show.
Federal agencies often use private contractors to conduct work on their behalf. Some of this work involves the transportation of illegal immigrants in governmental custody.
The federal government relies so heavily on contractors to transport illegals that ICE spends more than $200 million every year on private contractors just in the state of Texas by itself.
“The executive order violates the Supremacy Clause and causes injury to the United States and to individuals whom the United States is charged to protect, jeopardizing the health and safety of noncitizens in federal custody, risking the safety of federal law enforcement personnel and their families, and exacerbating the spread of COVID-19 in our communities,” the DOJ argues in their lawsuit.
