Barrel Babes Drag Brunch was advertised as “Dancing Music and Laughs,” but journalist Taylor Hansen said that the event involved “Vulgarity, Sexualization of Minors, and Partial Nudity.”

A group gathered outside to protest the event, but were met with activists that spit on them.

Protect Texas Kids, founded by Kelly Neidert, organized a “pop-up protest” outside the venue after finding out about the show.

According to journalist Andy Ngo, “The local chapter of the John Brown Gun Club, an #Antifa militia linked to domestic terrorism, led the call to direct action.”

Antifa showed up outside in order to protect and support the event.

Several photos and videos of the clash were posted on Twitter.

Kris Cruz from Blaze TV shared photos of Antifa members dressed in all black and carrying guns.

“Armed #Antifa escorted attendees to the vehicles. I counted about 9 AR-15s,” he said.

In agreement with the staff, Antifa worked to provide “protection” for attendees as “bodyguards.”

Cruz also reported that Antifa militants were “armed like snipers on the 3rd floor of the parking garage.”

According to the Post Millennial, Antifa was directly targeting Neidert and Protect Texas Kids.

Antifa has repeatedly targeted and harassed Neidert, even calling her organization a “terror crew.”

Another Blaze TV member, Sara Gonzalez, said teachers and over 20 children were in attendance.

“Aside from the children present, there were some safety concerns. The staff admitted they were violating fire code & over capacity,” she explained.

Minors were reportedly given a “wristband that said, ‘drinking age verified,'” Gonzalez added.

It is unclear if police were called about the issue outside the venue.
