Earlier this week, San Francisco Mayor London Breed was seen at a local nightclub without a mask despite the city’s guidance.
Photos and video of Breed at the Black Cat jazz club in the Tenderloin district show she was with Alicia Garza, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, and Raphael Saadiq. Almost everyone at the club was maskless.
When talking to the San Francisco Chronicle, Breed said “The fact that we have not been able to enjoy live music in this way since the beginning of this pandemic made it even that much more special and extraordinary”.
The city’s mask mandate, which was suggested by the mayor, states that everyone, including those that are vaccinated, must wear a mask in any indoor setting, unless they are eating or drinking.

This is not the first time Breed has been seen breaking state guidance. Last November, she was seen at a restaurant in Napa after the state discouraged social gatherings and advised them to be limited to households.
