Mayor Of Chicago Issues ‘Call To Arms’

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot mentioned a “call to arms” against the Supreme Court in a Twitter post Monday.

Lightfoot claimed that LGBTQ+ rights were being threatened following a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court on May 2, which potentially means the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

“To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community — the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms,” she said in the tweet.

“We will not surrender our rights without a fight — a fight to victory!” she added as a reply to her original post.

The draft was confirmed by Chief Justice John Roberts, who noted that the decision was not final and the leak would be investigated.

Twitter users began questioning Lightfoot’s tweet and her “call to arms”.

Political columnist Benny Johnson tweeted “Meanwhile, the White House is refusing to condemn protesters showing up to the private homes of Justices. Democrats are telling us exactly what they want”.

Kathy Barnette, Republican Candidate forvSenate in Pennsylvania, said “For a woman with so much blood on her hands due to the gun violence she allows in Chicago, she’s going to cause even more death. Issuing terroristic threats is a crime!”

“While people are being slain in her streets on a daily basis, all she can worry about is endangering more lives with her reckless words. Shame on her. She should resign,” tweeted Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert.
