Despite Biden’s rhetoric about avoiding gatherings, he held a rose garden party, only inviting democrats upon the passing of the new stimulus package.
The New York Post claimed:
“The president was joined by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and a socially distanced group of other congressional Democrats.
Biden insisted that Republican voters support his first major legislative achievement as president, even as it won no Republican votes as Democrats rammed it through Congress under budget reconciliation rules.”
It’s somewhat ironic that Biden threw a party to celebrate passing a pandemic-related bill through congress. It doesn’t quite seem like the right example to set.
It’s likely that all the correct precautions were taken but it mirrors the situation last year, when Trump wasn’t wearing a mask every time he was in public.
He was safe the entire time, and was the most tested man in the world. He knew if he was a danger to others. Because of this he didn’t wear a mask when he wasn’t in close quarters with others.
Democrats were upset by this because they felt that even though Trump was being safe, he should have worn a mask at all times in order to set an example for his supporters.
Biden should be held to the same standard.
