Bernie Sanders Says His $6T Spending Package Is ‘Probably Too Little’

On Sunday, Sen. Bernie Sanders said that the $6 trillion infrastructure plan he originally suggested is “probably too little” and the newer $3.5 trillion package should be the minimum.

On ABC News “This Week”, Sanders said “The $6 trillion that I originally proposed was probably too little. Three and a half trillion should be a minimum. But I accept that there’s going to have to be give and take”.

Poll after poll shows what we are doing is exactly what the American people wants. It’s not what the big money interest wants, not what the lobbyist wants. It’s what the American people want.

Democrats have been fighting over a $3.5 trillion social spending package and a  $1 trillion infrastructure plan. Two senators, Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, have enforced that they will not support the reconciliation bill unless it gets lowered to $1.5 trillion.

Sanders insisted “we have the American people, very, very strongly on our side” and “We’re going to win this thing”.

Last week Nancy Pelosi had to cancel a vote twice on the infrastructure bill after members of the House held it up until they got a vote on the $3.5 trillion bill. The new deadline for a vote is Oct. 31.
