Texas Man Offers Free Land For Musk To Move Twitter HQ

A Texas man has offered Elon Musk 100 acres of free land for moving the headquarters of Twitter, which is currently in San Francisco, California.

The offer came from Jim Schwertner, president and CEO of Schwertner Farms.

After Musk purchased Twitter for roughly $44 billion, many have encouraged him to move the headquarters out of California, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.

“Elon Musk, Move twitter to Schwertner, TX. 38 miles North of Austin in Williamson County, and we will give you 100 Acres for FREE,” Schwertner tweeted on April 26.

A day earlier, Abbott tweeted “Bring Twitter to Texas to join Tesla, SpaceX & the Boring company”.

Schwertner told Austonia that he thinks Musk is the best thing to ever happen to Texas, noting that a business like Twitter would add plenty of jobs and boost the economy.

“I just think with all the stuff he’s done, he evidently likes Texas, right or he wouldn’t have moved from California,” he said. “And I want to be part of his plan if he’ll come visit with us”.

After Schwertner’s offer, Abbott tweeted “I will declare it a ‘Free Speech Zone’. Maybe we can rename it Twitter, Texas. Think about it, @elonmusk”.

Last year, Musk moved the headquarters for Tesla from Palo Alto, California, to Austin, Texas. SpaceX and the Boring Company are also headquartered in Texas.
