The Biden Administration is considering declaring a public health emergency in order to use powers granted to pass an executive order providing abortion pills to Americans.
The White House wants to use the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness (PREP) Act to push an executive action without the consent of congress that would allow pharmacists to provide anyone with chemical abortion pills.
This would be a clear and blatant abuse of power, only using the PREP act to bypass congress and act as a legislator. A lack of abortions is not a public health emergency, in fact it’s quite the opposite. For humans are surviving pregnancies without abortions.
The Daily Caller reported, that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, along with 16 of their Senate colleagues, urged Biden to take executive action to protect abortion access, including through the use of the PREP Act, in a July 13 letter.
The letter said, “While it is impossible to immediately undo the damage inflicted by the Supreme Court’s repeal of Roe v. Wade, the Biden-Harris Administration must use every tool within its power to fight back, we urge you to declare national and public health emergencies over Americans’ access to reproductive care.”
In reality, no damage was done by the Supreme Court. The damage was done in 1973 when the Roe court acted as legislators and through judicial activism materialized a right to an abortion out of thin air, despite that “right” not existing anywhere in the constitution.
