A Virginia Professor has resigned after defending adults who are sexually attracted to children.
According to the Daily Caller, The Old Dominion University (ODU) announced Wednesday Allyn Walker, 34, will be stepping down from his position as an assistant professor of sociology and criminal justice beginning in May of 2022. Until then, Walker will be on leave, according to the university.
Walker wrote a book called “A Long Dark Shadow: Minor-Attracted People And Their Pursuit of Dignity”.
“Minor-attracted person” or MAP is a term that is used to legitimize predatory and pedophilic behavior as a legitimate sexuality. The book allegedly challenges “widespread assumptions that persons who are preferentially attracted to minors – often referred to as ‘pedophiles’ – are necessarily also predators or sex offenders”.
The term MAP grants a sense of normality to individuals who desire sexual relationships with children. Walker focuses on on non-offending “MAPS,” individuals who do not act on their desires.
While non-offenders are not necessarily bad people and cannot necessarily stop their attraction, it is not normal nor is it legitimate.
No person who has sexual fantasies about children should ever feel comfortable with those thoughts.
