Senator Cruz takes on “Woke” Pentagon

In response to many high-ranking military servicemembers politicizing their partisan opinions of Tucker Carlson while in uniform and from their official government Twitter accounts, Republican U.S. Senator, Ted Cruz, is speaking out.

On Sunday, Cruz made a tweet where he wrote, “Under Biden, the military is launching political attacks to intimidate Tucker Carlson & other civilians who criticize their policy decisions. Officials in uniform are being used for the campaign. I’ve demanded a meeting with the Commandant of the USMC to put a stop to it.”

He also attached a letter in the tweet addressed to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Cruz cited Department of Defense Directive 1344.10 which indicates members of the U.S. military may not engage in “partisan political campaign or elections, candidate, cause or issue.”

Last week on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Carlson compared the U.S. and Chinese militaries. He said that while China was strengthening its naval forces, the U.S. focused more on female hairstyle regulations and maternity flight suits.
