House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, said she will recreate a Commission similar to the one made after the September 11 attacks via a letter to Democrats titled, “Dear Colleague: Security, Security, Security,” on Presidents Day.
She wrote, “investigate and report on the facts and causes relating to the January 6, 2021 domestic terrorist attack upon the United States Capitol Complex… and relating to the interference with the peaceful transfer of power, including facts and causes relating to the preparedness and response of the United States Capitol Police and other Federal, State, and local law enforcement in the National Capitol Region.”
On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary, Jen Psaki, was asked during the White House brief if President Biden would support Pelosi’s Commission.
In non-Psaki circle-back fashion, she confirmed he would.
