Friday, Chip Roy a Republican Representative from Texas will introduce legislation that limits passport sex options to only two, male and female.
The Bill is titled the “Passport Sanity Act”. The legislation would effectively reverse a previous decision from the State Department that allows Americans to choose their own sex.
Sex is not something that can be changed, regardless of any gender arguments. Sex refers strictly to biology and cannot be changed.
Oxford defines ‘sex’ as “either of the two main categories (male and female) into which humans and most other living things are divided on the basis of their reproductive functions.” Reproductive functions can be removed, but not added thus making it impossible to change one’s biological sex.
“There are only two sexes,” Roy said. male and female — and that’s what official government documents should reflect. Passports exist to serve our national security by verifying the identity of those who exit and reenter our country; they do not exist to undermine reality,” he continued.
In conclusion, the congressman said, “Radical gender ideology has no place in our government — whether in our education system or at the passport office. That’s why I introduced the Passport Sanity Act to put an end to this madness,”
As of right now, the bill has 7 co-sponsors including Rep. Louie Gohmert, Rep. Bob Good, Rep. Mary Miller, Rep. Lauren Boebert, Rep. Matt Gaetz, Rep. Ted Budd, and Rep. Jeff Duncan according to The Daily Caller.
