Liz Cheney for President? The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney thinks she has a shot at becoming the next President despite being unable to win the Republican primary in Wyoming.
Cheney lost the primaries by 37 points but said “I’m not going to make any announcements here this morning, but — but it is something that I — I’m thinking about and I’ll make a decision in the coming months,” while appearing on the ‘Today Show.
Cheney was beaten out by a Republican Challenger named Harriet Hageman. Hageman is endorsed by former President Donald Trump and Rep. Kevin McCarthy.
Cheney’s popularity has hit absolute rock bottom after supporting and participating in the partisan January 6th Committee. The committee very intentionally excluded any Donald Trump-supporting members of congress to prevent any defense arguments.
Nancy Pelosi appointed Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger to the committee knowing full well that they’d go along with the charade despite being republicans. Members of congress like Jim Jordan and Jim Banks were rejected likely to prevent them from raining on Pelosi’s parade.
After voting to impeach Trump and participating in the hearings, Cheney was removed from her position as the chairwoman of the House Republican Conference in 2021.
There’s no surprise that an establishment politician with family roots in the public office hates Donald Trump.
