As America faces a nationwide formula shortage the Biden Administration has flown in more than 70,000 pounds of the stuff. The president’s economic advisor says that it’ll be on the shelves by next week.
The Daily Mail reported The shipment from the US military’s Ramstein Air Base in Germany is the first in Biden’s Operation Fly Formula program, aimed at ramping up international imports of baby formula to raise US supply.
This seems to be one of the few examples of the administration using federal funding to benefit the American people, but unfortunately comes just after $40 billion in American taxpayer dollars was sent to Ukraine.
The shortage has already led to many reports of children being hospitalized over a lack of nutrition.
Hopefully, this is not just a short-term fix. 70,000 pounds of formula may seem like a lot, but considering that there are roughly 3,605,201 births per year in the United States, the supply will deplete quickly.
