‘Rust’ Crew Used Hot Gun For Leisure Shooting Morning Of Accident

After it was confirmed that a live bullet was left in the firearm that killed Halyna Hutchins, many were confused as to how the shooting could have not been intentional.

Reportedly, the firearm was used for “leisure shooting” the morning that Alec Baldwin fatally shot Hutchins.

Fox reported, According to a search warrant executed by the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office, obtained by Fox News, armorer Hanna Gutierrez Reed handled the prop gun, leaving it among others on a cart outside the set location they were filming. Assistant director Dave Halls then retrieved the gun and handed it to actor Alec Baldwin announcing that it was a “cold gun,” a term used to indicate that a prop gun is safe to handle and not loaded with live ammunition.

Sometime after the gun had been loaded and checked, a live bullet was placed inside. The weapon was then handed to Baldwin. He was told that the gun was “cold”. Unfortunately the nation knows what happens next.

The scene that Hutchins was shot in likely involved a down the barrel thriller scene that puts the viewer in the perspective of the person that Baldwin would be aiming at.

Now, it has become very obvious that some members of “rusts crew” were following almost none of safety measures required when handling firearms on set.
