Several police cars were stationed outside while officers stood around the lawn and some patrolled the area. It is unclear whether the Kavanaugh family was home but multiple lights were on inside.

Amidst the current abortion issues, protesters stood in the street calling on Kavanaugh to resign, sharing abortion stories, and discussing their fears about Roe v. Wade.

One activist was shouting, “There are no bad abortions because the right to pick and choose how to plan your family is a human right”.

Democratic candidate for Montgomery County council Kristin Mink spoke to the crowd saying that during her “family making journey”, she aborted one of her children early on in the pregnancy. She explained that Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court shortly after and said, “Like thousands of others, I took to the streets to protest this nomination”.

Activists have expressed their concern with Justices Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett and upon their nomination, immediately feared they would seek to overturn Roe v. Wade.
