Pro-Abortion Protesters March Outside Homes Of Supreme Court Justices

Pro-abortion protesters were seen marching to the homes of Supreme Court Justices John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh Saturday night, days after a leaked draft opinion revealed the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade.

The protesters gathered at a café in Chevy Chase before they beginning their march to the homes of Roberts and Kavanaugh for a “Candlelight vigil for Roe v. Wade”.

A flyer for the event said they were protesting “for reproductive freedom”.

Outside Kavanaugh’s house in Maryland, protesters chanted “no uterus, no opinion!” and “we will not go back!”

One organizer, Lacie Wooten-Holway, told Bloomberg “The time for civility is over, man”. “Being polite doesn’t get you anywhere”.

Videos shared on Twitter show them outside Roberts’ home chanting, “The whole world is watching!”

Others yelled “Keep abortion safe and legal” and drew coat hangers on the street with chalk.

A group called ShutDown DC is planning to hold another protest outside of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s house on May 9.

“The evening of Monday, May 9, we will hold a vigil for all these rights that Alito is threatening to take away. Because it’s been impossible to reach him at the Supreme Court (especially now with the enormous fences), we will do it at his home,” a description for the event says.

Kavanaugh is one of the five justices Politico reported had already voted to overturn Roe, though it was unclear how Roberts would vote.

Another group “Ruth Sent Us,” is set to protest Wednesday at what it called “the homes of the six extremist justices”..

When asked about protests outside a justice’s home, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said “I think our view here is that peaceful protests — there’s a long history in the United States in the country of that”.

“We obviously want people’s privacy to be respected. We want people to protest peacefully if they want to protest. That is certainly what the president’s view would be,” she explained.
