“Let’s Go Brandon” and “F**k Joe Biden” chants have become increasingly popular at sporting events. You can hear one at almost every college football game this season.

The phrase originates from a video at the Talladega Superspeedway where Brandon Brown won his first Xfinity Series. The crowd was chanting “F*** Joe Biden” but the reporter suggested they said “Let’s Go Brandon” in support of Brown’s win.

NASCAR has announced it does not want to be part of the chant. The president, Steve Phelps, said “I think unfortunately it speaks to the state of where we are as a country. We do not want to associate ourselves with politics, the left or the right”.

Reports also claim NASCAR will stop the use of its trademark and name in association with the phrase. “That’s not OK. It’s not OK that you’re using our trademarks illegally, regardless of whether we agree with what the position is,” Phelps said.

Shirts have been created that use the NASCAR logo next to “Let’s Go Brandon”. Rapper Bryson Gray created a song with the same name, and the song has become a #1 hit across the country.
