Las Vegas Substitute Teacher Reportedly Tapes Mask To Student’s Face

A 9-year-old boy’s mother has accused a substitute teacher at her son’s school of taping a mask onto his face. The boy got up for a drink of water during class and forgot his mask.

The incident occurred at Reedom Elementary School in Mountain’s Edge.

The mother, who remains unidentified, spoke to Fox 5 Las Vegas and said, “I was furious, furious”. “I was scared for my son on what kind of long-term effect it is going to have on him socially, the fact that the entire class was laughing,” she added.

She has allegedly filed a police report against the substitute who did not ask the boy to put his mask on when he got up.

“She, instead, pulled him up in front of the classroom in front of all of the students and she then taped the mask across the top of his face”, the mother said. The boy told his mom that this is not the first time a student has had their mask taped to their face.

The principal notified the family of an investigation into the matter and the Clark County School District stated it is “aware of the isolated incident and is dealing with the employee through proper channels”.

The mother told Fox 5 she wants the teacher to resign from their position.
