In a viral video that surfaced Tuesday, a large group of Michigan high school students protesting a mask mandate are seen in a cafeteria when a group of masked men walk into the room.

A man in a position of authority, presumably the principle says “alright everybody… Uh… a few minutes ago I was out here to let you know that you were going to need to put on a mask to go to class.” The man stated as a police officer walked by.

He gave the students the option to leave the school if they refused to put on a mask. It appeared that most students in the dining area were maskless and clearly refusing orders made by their school’s administration.

“I’m letting you know now, that if you choose not to leave, you are going to be suspended, which then WILL effect your athletic health,” the man said levying sports over the young athlete’s heads.

He gave the young adults “a few minutes” to make their decision. “It’s 10:23 now, at 10:33 if you’re still here, we will consider that your choice to be arrested.”

A student named Kate asked the man, “Just for clarification, why are we getting suspended?” The man paused, appearing answerless.

“…insubordination…,” he quietly murmured.

Another student shouted out “so we won’t be removed by the police?”

“That’ll be next, there’s a process,” he replied.

The school was identified as Gaylord High School in Otsego County, Michigan.
