Former President Donald Trump is now suing his niece, Mary Trump who works for the New York Times and is notoriously against her uncle.
Fox News reported,
Former President Trump filed a $100 million lawsuit Tuesday against The New York Times and his niece, Mary Trump, accusing them of “tortiously breaching and/or interfering with his contractual rights and otherwise maliciously conspiring against him” for a 2018 report on his taxes.
“The defendants engaged in an insidious plot to obtain confidential and highly-sensitive records which they exploited for their own benefit and utilized as a means of falsely legitimizing their publicized works. The defendants’ actions were motivated by a personal vendetta and their desire to gain fame, notoriety, acclaim and a financial windfall and were further intended to advance their political agenda,” the suit filed in New York’s Dutchess County states.
The former President demands that at least $100 million be awarded to him in damages. In the lawsuit, journalists David Barstow, Susanne Craig, and Russ Buettner are also named. The three earned the Pulitzer Prize as a result of a story relating to Trump’s taxes.
Ironically, many platforms such as Twitter banned the Hunter Biden laptop story, calling it a violation of privacy policies. Simultaneously, the platform allowed the Trump tax return story to trend.
The suit claims that Mary has access to “more than 40,000 pages of highly sensitive, proprietary, private and confidential documents, including, but not limited to, financial documents, accountings, tax records, income tax returns, bank statements, legal documents and other related documents” relating to Donald Trump as a result of a previous litigation related to his mother, and grandmother of Mary Trump.
During the litigation, allegedly, a settlement deal was reached where all materials relating to Donald Trump would remain confidential and not be released.
Ultimately these materials were used to smear Donald’s name after he became the 45th President of the United States.
