Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis criticized President Biden during a conference Wednesday, telling him to stop talking about COVID until he does his job and secures the border.
DeSantis added that Biden has “imported more virus from around the world by having a wide open southern border” while blasting the president for claiming he’d shut down the virus.
Recently, the Biden administration has been pressed about reports that illegal immigrants are crossing over with COVID and being put into border communities without notice to law enforcement.
Along the southern border, virus cases are increasing. In the Rio Grande Valley Sector, cases increased by 900% in the first two weeks of July.
DeSantis is receiving praise from supporters online, with many calling it a “mic-drop” moment.
The Biden administration has been fighting with DeSantis in recent weeks due to the Governor’s opposition of mask mandates. White House press secretary Jen Psaki, in particular, has been blaming DeSantis for putting citizens at risk.
