After George Floyd was killed, his killer officer Derek Chauvin was arrested and his trial was expedited to the federal level. He was then charged with third degree murder but the charge was thrown out.
The New York Post wrote:
“A decision to toss out the third-degree murder charge against ex-Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin in the police custody death of George Floyd was reversed by an appeals court Friday, according to a report.
The reversal could delay the trial of the former officer, who already faces second-degree murder and manslaughter raps, an NBC affiliate reported.”
The trial was expedited by then, President Donald J Trump. This did nearly nothing to stop the outrage sparked by the death. Cities burned ba people were killed.
Now the American people will have to wait and find out what happens as a result of this decision. Riots will likely ensue.
