Denver Murder Spike Driven By Illegal Firearms

Denver Colorado this year,  is set to experience the most murders in 41 years.

So far in 2022, the city has had 55 murders which is approximately 10% more than this time last year. In 2021 there were over a hundred killings as opposed to previous years like 2015, 2014, and 2013 where fewer than 60 murders happened respectively.

Records also show that in Denver there have been 2,800 aggravated assaults, robberies, and homicides as of late July.

According to the Daily Caller, Denver’s polo fee department believe that the majority of homicide is carried out with illegal firearms – so much for effective gun control, now Denver residents are left unable to open carry or use certain magazines while criminals are able to use whatever weapon they like, to hurt whoever they like.

Of Colorado residents polled, 57% felt that crime was an ‘extremely’ or ‘very serious problem. This percentage was up from 41% compared in a previous poll.

“We really asked police officers to not be as involved, defund the police, ask them to come up with different ways. And that’s all good, but the reality is crime is still going to occur and there are people out there who are going to take advantage of other people,” Metro State professor Stacey Hervey said.
