After being abandoned in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, 39 American citizens and residents were rescued by a veterans group and taken to New York.
The rescued group had at least a dozen children including one 11-month-old American child.
Their rescuers were a civilian-led veteran group operating under the name of “Project Dynamo”. Its members mostly consist of former service members or members of the military reserves.
Members of Dynamo flew into Afghanistan earlier in the week. They brought evacuees to a safehouse in the countries Capitol where they administered COVID-19 vaccines before bringing them home.
According to the group, all of those rescued passed inspections required by border and customs to enter the United States.
These men, women, and children were deserted in a hostile country after a violent overthrow. The new regime immediately began rescinding the rights of its people.
Were it not for Project Dynamo, these American citizens may never have made it back to the United States.
Somehow, a volunteer group has the resources, and ability to rescue citizens from Afghanistan, yet the Biden Administration does not? Or is it that they can, but won’t?
“This is the first known major airlift rescue with American boots on the ground since the U.S. government abandoned the country of Afghanistan in August,” said a spokesperson for the organization named James Judge.
