Biden Issues Executive Order That Could Be Used To Defund Police

Just as Joe Biden’s approval rating among black voters has hit an all-time low, the President has passed an executive order that works to fulfill the “defund the police” agenda.

The “Advancing Effective, Accountable Policing and Criminal Justice Practices to Enhance Public Trust and Public Safety” order uses clever language to allow the government to strip local police forces of federal funding. The May 25th order does little to reduce crime and actually breeds it.

The bill bypasses congress and cheats checks and balances on an issue that is central to the federal government’s job of protecting its citizens. Who needs checks and balances anyway?

“I’ve called on Congress to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, but Senate Republicans have stood in the way of progress. That’s why this afternoon, I’m taking action and signing an Executive Order that delivers the most significant police reform in decades,” Biden Tweeted

The George Floyd Act would actually have made it more difficult for officers to do their jobs and protect themselves. For example, it would have raised the bar for use of lethal force, which in most departments already relies on the officer’s life being at immediate risk of death

The Daily Caller reported, most concerning, the executive order seeks to fulfill the left’s long-standing ambition of defunding the police — albeit in a discreet way that targets local and state-level law enforcement agencies. The order states that executive branch agencies will be authorized to “promptly review and exercise their authority, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, to award Federal discretionary grants in a manner that supports and promotes the adoption of policies of this order” by state and local governments. That is, if state governments fail to implement these dangerous and far-reaching policies, Joe Biden will deprive them of federal funding.

The bill also referenced the “legacy of systemic racism in our criminal justice system and in our institutions more broadly.” The idea that the American police force at large is systemically racist has been disproven time and time again. It functions as nothing more than a virtue signal to voter demographics from the administration.
