A viral video currently circulating shows a first-class passenger situated on an airplane in the seat behind Mike Tyson, harassing the famous boxer. As the bothersome passenger continues, Tyson eventually turns around and begins assaulting the man.
Mike Tyson now claims that the man who was harassing him had thrown a water bottle, provoking the inbound attack.
“Unfortunately, Mr. Tyson had an incident on a flight with an aggressive passenger who began harassing him, and threw a water bottle at him while he was in his seat,” A spokesperson for Tyson said in a statement given to TMZ.
According to TMZ, when the police responded in San Francisco, two individuals who they believed to be involved in the incident were detained. This likely included the celebrity boxer.
According to the same report, the man who met the brutal end of Tyson’s boxing skills refused to cooperate with the police. For this reason, it’s unlikely that anything will come of the attack.
Dana White poked fun at the incident, posting a tweet reading “Hey Dummies, for future reference, this is how you stay alive when bumping into (Mike Tyson) on an airplane”. Below the tweet is an attached video that shows Dana sitting in an airplane seat before Mike Tyson approaches him, slaps him in the arm, and expresses that he likes the seat Dana is in. The UFC commissioner then stands up and allows Tyson into the seat.
It’s unclear if the hilarious skit was made before or after Tyson’s public altercation.
