Democrat representative from California is among those who seek to impede justice during the Derek Chauvin trial.
Saturday night Waters was in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota where Daunte Wright was fatally shot by police officer Kim Potter who has since been charged with manslaughter in the second degree.
When interviewed by a reporter, Maxine Waters asserted that if officer Derek Chauvin is not found guilty of murder, “We’ve got to stay on the street and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”
Waters, as a member of government should understand that the people outside of the Jury do not dictate decisions made by the justice system.
This is blatant coercion. Waters hopes protestors will use intimidation in order to sway the outcome of a criminal trial.
The weight of this interview runs deeper.
Nancy Pelosi and Waters were stern supporters of the second Trump impeachment. The pair claimed that “Trump incited violence” therefore he must be impeached.
However here waters is encouraging protestors to get more confrontational even after we have seen drive by shootings on the national guard, police officers assaulted, and fires lit.
Nancy Pelosi has recently come out in defense of Waters.
This is a very clear double standard, and lack of consistency in elected officials.
