In a speech from the White House Wednesday, President Joe Biden called the “MAGA crowd” the “most extreme political organization in American history”.
While warning about the “ultra-MAGA agenda,” Biden claimed that the GOP could ban LGBTQ children from classrooms if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
“What happens if you have states changing the law saying that children who are LGBTQ can’t be in classrooms with other children?” Biden asked.
He also said they could possibly reverse the 1965 Griswold v. Connecticut case that struck down a state law banning the use of contraceptives by married couples.
“What are the next things that are going to be attack? Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history. Recent American history,” the president said.
“I believe I have the rights that I have not because the government gave them to me…but because I’m just a child of God. I exist,” he added.
On Tuesday, Biden claimed that the overturning of Roe v. Wade could even affect gay marriage or other laws that relied on a right to privacy.
In a statement, he said it could regulate “who you marry, whether or not you decide to conceive a child or not, whether or not you can have an abortion, a range of other decisions”.
On Wednesday, he also mentioned taxes and Florida Republican Sen. Rick Scott’s “Plan to Rescue America”.
“Let me tell you about this ultra MAGA agenda, it’s as extreme as most MAGA things are, it will actually raise taxes on 75 million American families, over 95% of whom make less than $100,000 a year,” he said.
“Imagine your family of four and you don’t pay you don’t make enough money to have federal taxes … under this new plan, this tax plan the ultra MAGA agenda, while big corporations and billionaires are going to pay nothing more, the working class folk are going to pay hell a lot more,” Biden continued.
