The Palm Beach home of President Donald J. Trump has been raided by the FBI according to a statement released by Trump. The story was later confirmed by CNN and a number of other outlets.
Mar-a-Lago as it’s better known is a sprawling Florida resort occupied by the 45th President of the United States. On Monday a statement was released claiming that the property had been “under siege” by federal agents.
The raid was unannounced and a complete surprise to Trump and his family. The search for Trump’s manor will likely coincide with the current January 6th select committee.
“My beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” the statement started.
The former President was reportedly out of town when the warrant was executed. The raid focused on Trump’s offices and personal areas. He alleges that they even broke into his safe.
At this time the Justice Department has made no comment on the raid, and likely won’t for some time.
