Yesterday, former President Donald Trump was indicted by the Manhattan Grand Jury and the district attorney’s office, led by Alvin Bragg. He is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, April 4th at 2:15PM, in front of Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over the case. The charges stem from an investigation into alleged hush money payments Trump made to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

 

Law enforcement agencies, including the Secret Service, New York Police Department, FBI, New York State court officers, and the DA’s office, will meet to finalize the details and logistics of Trump’s arrest. The Secret Service will  have the final say and decide how Trump is brought in. Trump will be voluntarily turning himself in and there will be no handcuffs involved.

Sources previously reported that Bragg had requested that Trump surrender to his office on Friday, but the Secret Service delayed his surrender. The indictment of a former president of the United States is unprecedented in American history and Donald Trump will be the first ever to be brought up on criminal charges.

The criminal charges against Trump come after a lengthy investigation into a $130,000 payment to Daniels and another $150,000 payment to former Playboy model Karen McDougal, allegedly to keep them quiet about their alleged sexual encounters with Trump during his first presidential campaign. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has denied having affairs with either woman.

In 2019, federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York chose not to charge former President Donald Trump in connection with the payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. This was despite his former attorney Michael Cohen implicating him as part of his plea deal on campaign finance violations. Additionally, in 2021, the Federal Election Commission also ended its investigation into the matter.

 

With these matters already being investigated multiple times will there be something different to be found this go around? Trump has been calling this a Witch Hunt the whole time and has taken to Truth Social this morning to voice his opinion.

On top of this another message was posted by President Trump on Truth Social about DA Brag:

“District Attorney Bragg is a danger to our Country, and should be removed immediately, along with Radical Lunatic Bombthrower Jack Smith, who is harassing and intimidating innocent people at levels not seen before, “Get Trump” Letitia James, the worst Attorney General in the United States, and Atlanta D.A. Fani Willis, who is trying to make PERFECT phone calls into a plot to destroy America, but reigns over the most violent Crime Scene in America, and does nothing about it!”
