Former Vice-President, Mike Pence, announced the creation of the Advancing American Freedom (AAF) advocacy political group to bring “Trumpism” to the forefront of conservative values and policies.
In a statement to the Washington Examiner, Pence said, “Advancing American Freedom plans to build on the success of the last four years by promoting traditional conservative values and promoting the successful policies of the Trump administration. Conservatives will not stand idly by as the radical left and the new administration attempt to threaten America’s standing as the greatest nation in the world with their destructive policies”
Former President Donald Trump is supporting the new group.
He told the Washington Examiner, “It was the most successful first term in American history. Nice to see Mike highlighting some of our many achievements.”
Some of the board members in the AAF are also former members from the Trump administration such as David Bernhardt, Kellyanne Conway, Larry Kudlow, Robert Lightizer, Seema Verma, Russ Vought, and Andrew Wheeler.
AAF’s mission statement, “Advancing American Freedom promotes and defends the successful policies of recent years that yielded unprecedented prosperity at home and restored America’s strength abroad, while elevating traditional American values. AAF serves the Conservative Movement by developing innovative policy solutions, strategies, coalitions, and messaging that builds upon those accomplishments, expands freedom for all Americans, and hampers anything that would threaten America’s standing as the greatest nation on the face of the Earth.”
Pence is expected to make his first public speech since leaving office in South Carolina towards the end of April at the Palmetto Family Council’s annual fundraiser.
A Pence aide said, “There’s no doubt when the vice president joined the ticket in 2016, there was a whole new voter that Donald Trump brought in with his focus on China and trade, and he won over a lot of blue-collar votes in the Midwest. This organization will focus on those winning policies that were at the center of that fusion between traditional conservativism and Trumpism.”
