Kamala Harris Preparing to be President?

Rather than having a more experienced politician work on foreign policy, like President Biden, Vice-President Kamala Harris has been taking phone calls with world leaders.

Her first phone call was with Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, on February 1. Among their discussions of Harris going to school in Montreal as a high school student, they spoke on “avoiding the unintended consequences of Buy America policies.”

These conversations happened after President Biden already spoke with Trudeau when he was sworn in.

In Harris’ meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, the White House released a statement.

It said, “Vice President Harris and President Macron agreed on the need for close bilateral and multilateral cooperation to address COVID-19, climate change, and support democracy at home and around the world”

The statement also mentioned that their phone call touched on combating regional unrest in both the Middle East and Africa, Macron’s leadership in gender equality, and France’s contribution to NASA’s Perseverence rover.
