It has been 21 years since arguably the deadliest terrorist attack in American history was carried out on the World Trade Center in New York.
Unfortunately, some politicians would rather use this day as a way to push agendas rather than one to remember and memorialized the innocents who were murdered.
Hillary Clinton is using 9/11 to push an anti-Trump narrative. Clinton claims that lessons of 9/11 should still be used to root out extremism today, alluding to MAGA republicans.
Fox News reported, that Hillary Clinton said Sunday that the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks serve as a sobering reminder that the United States must “deal with extremism of any kind.”
During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” the former secretary of state told anchor Dana Bash that there are still lessons to be learned from 9/11.
Clinton seems to be very obviously hinting at extremism in her former opponent Donald Trump, and his supporters – some of whom participated in the storming of the Capitol building on January 6th, 2021.
Clinton said, “We have also, I think, been reminded about how important it is to try to deal with extremism of any kind, especially when it uses violence to try to achieve political and ideological goals – So I’m one who thinks that there are lessons still to be learned from what happened to us on 9/11 that we should be very aware of during this time in our country and the world’s history.”
Hillary was a Senator in New York when the World Trade Center fell, she recalled what it was like to be in that situation.
“All of America’s elected officials really genuinely put party aside and came together after those attacks. Would that be possible today?” She said, despite clearly using decisive rhetoric.
She recalled speaking to George W. Bush in the White House’s Oval Office. She said that Bush asked what was needed, and when she told him “$20 billion to rebuild New York” he said, “you got it.”
Then Clinton cut back to using 9/11 as a way to justify an inquisition of current political ideologues.
She said, “So we are in a funny position, Dana because there’s a small, but very vocal, very powerful, very determined minority who wants to impose their views on all the rest of us.”
