A freelance CNN writer named Adele Raja was found out to have been tweeting positive statements about Adolf Hitler, and actually claiming that the world needs “another hitler”.
Raja Tweeted “the world today needs a Hitler” Sunday. He also said “The only reason I am supporting Germany in the finals is – Hitler was German and he did good with those Jews!” Back on 7/12/2014. The following day he tweeted “Hail Hitler!”.
According to Fox News, CNN said, “Adeel Raja has never been a CNN employee. As a freelancer, his reporting contributed to some newsgathering efforts from Islamabad. However, in light of these abhorrent statements, he will not be working with CNN again in any capacity.” Matt Dornic, a CNN spokesperson said that he had never heard of the writer.
Raja has over 80,000 followers on Twitter. He wasn’t exactly hiding his anti-Semitic Nazi supporting rhetoric. It is odd that CNN would let this slip through the cracks.
These tweets come in light of the increased tensions between Israel and Palestine. Raja deleted his tweet, but later doubled down and said that he was glad that he said it.
