The premiere of Alberta, Jason Kenney has announced that the province will be filing a court challenge against the federal government over their abuse of the Federal Emergencies Act.
“The federal government’s invocation of the Emergencies Act is an unnecessary and disproportionate measure, that can violate civil liberties, invade provincial jurisdiction, and creates a very dangerous precedent for the future,” Kenney said in a video statement posted to his Twitter.
“It’s not necessary, as we’ve demonstrated – provincial law enforcement authorities are able to deal with illegal road blockades.” He said.
The Premiere appears to be dedicated to ending blockades, to ensure free trade and strength of the Canadian economy, but also dedicated to maintaining free speech.
“Law and order must prevail regardless of the cause that people stand for. Folks in this country have the right peacefully and lawfully to protest, and I encourage people who feel strongly about vaccine mandates and public health restrictions to do just that legally and peacefully.”
Kenney then went on to shame Trudeau for having used unnecessary force to seize bank accounts extrajudicially, arbitrarily, and without court orders.
What the Canadian Federal Government is doing is not justice. Individuals who have not been convicted of any crime are being unusually punished and forced into an economic caste due to their beliefs and determination to stand up for those beliefs.
Jason Kenney explained that these powers are designed only to interrupt terrorist financing. By no stretch of the imagination, or interpretation of the definition are the Freedom Convoy protestors “terrorists” despite claims from officials.
“Now I can announce that Alberta will be filing a court challenge the government of Canada’s invocation of the Emergencies Act.” He concluded.
